You’re too optimistic, too naive, too sheltered, too unrealistic to see that life is not that simple.
No, it has never been a matter of simplicity.
It’s the knowledge the ability to see past the simplicity and into a future that could be better and fuller, adorned with good. It’s a cross between faith and trust in knowing that you’ll be okay. A humility to admit you don’t have the answers, but you choose to keep your eyes fixed to the door, anticipating every turn of the doorknob in eager fervor. And sometimes, the door won’t open, and then you take that disappointment, nurtured it back within your being, and see what form of creativity and brilliance you’ll able to reproduce. And I call that resilience.
